Donating a building does not have to be a long ordeal. If all papers are in order and the title is clear of issues, the donation process typically takes between 3-6 weeks, from initial contact through closing.

We may be able to accept a building with a lien on it, but every property needs a separate evaluation. Please fill out this form and we’ll get back to you within 1 business day to discuss your situation.

Yes, we most certainly do accept donations of buildings that are in less than ideal condition.

Yes, we can accept tenant-occupied properties. We’ll need some information on the tenant(s) to complete the donation.

La Pets Alive will pay all closing and recording fees. In order to receive your tax deduction, you’ll need a current appraisal on the property. According to IRS regulations, tax deduction is based on a current property appraisal. If you already have a current appraisal, you do not need to get another one.

Yes, Kars4Pets can work with the board to facilitate the transfer.

As a general rule, you can claim the FULL appraised value of the donated building. Consult your tax advisor for details.
